THESIS

K-pop or korean pop music is being populerdan from south korea, k-pop singer usually sings like a boyband or girlband team. K-pop lately become the trend of pop music around the world and also in Indonesia, children ranging from elementary school, middle school, high school, or other teenagers are very fond of k-pop, k-pop fans are usually dominated by women , and was often the man who loved

Arguments

In Indonesia k-pop is very popular among teenagers, k-pop fans are generally very understanding about the ins and outs of k-pop kind of song, language, dressing their style, even on koreapun culture they know and they are very fanatical about everything concerned the k-pop or Korean. they idolized artists k-pop with very fanatical, even when there is a concert or SUJU super junior who came from Korea to Jakarta for the concert, they desperately willing to see their idol sing and not of fan of rich people who would like to see the concert, even the lower economic participate dragged to see the concert even though they are on the verge of economic incompetence.

But behind all the things that they did not know what they admire cause multiple effects, ranging from lazy teenagers who really like k-pop, not infrequently, they love drama korea (usually women) willing to watch hours and hours just to watch a movie Korean dramas on tv, even some that store korean drama movies with very complete start from episode one to the end of the episode, and even then is not just a movie title alone, imagine how much time we waste every day just to watch a drama movie korea.

In any k-pop music began to be a role model Indonesian music industry, such as the emergence of boyband or girlband (SM * SH, MAX 5, 7icons, NSG star, S9B, M1ST, G Striing, TREEJI) may another boyband or girlband will be come out again and again, but the development of boyband or girlband is inversely proportional to the development of dangdut music, dangdut music trends that had mastered the Indonesian music now turned into a trend boyband and girlband Indonesia.

Likewise with cultures brought k-pop even more absorbed by the k-pop fans in Indonesia, they adopted the culture through their idol artists, their interest in foreign cultures is higher than the interest in the culture of its own, a result of the inclusion of culture-Korean culture to the cultures resulted in Indonesia Indonesia is increasingly fading, as more and more fans of k-pop in Indonesia, more and more people who are more interested and more like a foreign culture than the culture of Indonesia.

Recomendation

Indeed, the inclusion of k-pop culture is very detrimental to our country, because teenagers prefer k-pop which is basically k-pop also brought foreign cultures as well, it also will result in less and less attractive Indonesian culture, we better preserve and love own culture from the cultures of others. You can like other cultures but do not forget their own culture !

The phenomenon of K-Pop and Korean drama in thiscountry is not able to be stopped. Shouldparents be able to believe their son or daughter that is not necessary to cometo that idolized Korean artists. Our teenagers haveconsumed most of the foreign culture. Anythingcoming into the country, followed in droves. Themain reason for Korean artists were handsome and cool! Moreover, alot of Korean drama on television. Accordingto people who saw the movie, they say that the story is good and  can make us cry.

Growth of K-pop culture (Hallyu) in the countries of East Asia and severalSoutheast Asian countries including Indonesia shows the transformation of aforeign culture to other countries.

K-pop culture in Indonesia is growing very well. This development started in2009 and developed rapidly in 2011.

Our teenagers are now very fond of Korean starssuch as Super Junior, Shinee, DBSK, SNSD, and Wonder Girls. Moreover,Super Junior fans calling themselves Community ELF stands for Ever LastingFriend. But iffor me, ELF stands for Extra Lebay Fans!

Theconcern was that our youth begin to follow the lifestyle of Korean artists. Ifour youth know how life actually Korean celebrity world, maybe they would notlike that fond of his idol.

I once read an article a couple of times inVivanews.com and articles from other online sites that explore the phenomenonof Korean artists is staggering!

Weneed to know that Korea is a country with suicide rates number 1 in the world! Accordingto South Korea's Ministry of Health, there are about 35 people who committedsuicide Korea EVERY DAY, either from the artists as well as ordinary people. ParkJin Hee reveals artist in his thesis that more than 40% of Korean artists aredepressed and wanted to end his life. Tragic. Isthis an idolized celebrity lifestyle many of our youth?

One thing more astonishing, the phenomenon ofartists and Koreans who are accustomed to perform a plastic surgery! Anagency worker at the Seoul-based online survey conducted on 'how importantappearance for the Korean people. " Asa result 90% of men and women over there wants plastic surgery to support theirappearance.

Apparently plasticsurgery in Korea already entrenched. Theaverage Korean people aged 18-35 years, want an unusual gift. Theywant to be the eyes, chin, cheeks, and nose they overhauled with plasticsurgery. Thoseplastic surgery is much more important than having a gadget or a personalvehicle. Moreover, among the artists, because they are beautiful and handsome alter the resultshere and there.

and thedevelopment of Korean pop culture (Korean Wave) in Indonesia is a manifestationof globalization in communication and cultural dimensions. Globalization inthis dimension is due to the process of creation, copy, stressed, and theintensification of exchange and dependency information in the world ofentertainment, in this case the Korean entertainment world. Reliance is stillin the concrete dimension. Nevertheless, if the korean wave is not accompaniedby an appreciation of the national culture, it is feared the extension ofnational culture into a culture of marginal value shifts (edges). Moreover, thelargest percentage of recipients korean wave in Indonesia are teenagers. Infact, youth is the cornerstone of national development. If teens know now itwas not her own culture, the national culture can become extinct and replacedwith a new culture that does not fully comply with the personality of ourcountry's forefathers.

Theinclusion of K-POP music making the shift to Melayu music and dangdut. Malayand dangdut music has been less and less interested in the community and israrely shown on television. Societyis now more like the style of Korean boyband and girlband. Theshift is making music and dangdut melayu began to decline dramatically.

Another negative impact of the Indonesian people tend to prefer productskorea. Like the song korea, korea music, boyband / girlband korea. And reducedsense of love and pride in the culture of Indonesia itself. They are too laudKorean products and assume that Indonesian products no nothing. Communityconfiscate their time to watch Korean drama that they can watch on televisionor DVD.

It's good for the Indonesian people to be aware that it is annoying whenthe culture of another country more lovable than the Indonesian culture and nosense of real pride of the people of Indonesia itself

Do not drown yourself culture of our country since the advent of foreigncultures may be good but not good for our country. Let us learn to love our owncountry's products. Learning to appreciate the work of generations ofIndonesian and foreign cultures menomor emphasized.

Along with the time, outside the entrance to the culture of our country. Foreign culture is always discourage teens to learn about the culture of Indonesia. In fact, many foreign countries are interested in our culture. However, we are not able to preserve it. One of the foreign culture is K-pop. K-pop is one of the Korean culture. Kpop is now a source of inspiration for many people, both children, teenagers, and even adults. Inspiration includes a variety of things, such as how to dress, and even attitudes and behavior. Maybe Korea is now a fad or a fashion center after Kpop be booming. Various boyband and a girlband emerge as inspired it.. The event also includes music in television kpop group, and even television shows also featuring drama korea. Certainly television show is a universal event, so it's not unusual when kpop idolized worldwide.

Indonesia can not be denied again be one of the countries that have fanatic fans of kpop. Various vocal group which was themed korea scattered everywhere. Both boyband and girband, both who have children of personnel, ramaja, and adults. And many fanatic fans emerged from various circles. However, the fanatic fans of kpop is dominated by women, of course, women also believe strongly in maintaining the appearance of so many of the women who imitate the style of dress kpop personnel. So that imitation makes the wearer feel confident, yet self-confidence arising from each. Not from what we wear. Indonesia should also highlight its distinctive culture, such as angklung, theater, puppets, skits, Sintren, and much more. There are even some people who do not appreciate what he can, so that change shape to mimic the kpop artist, such as plastic surgery and others.

In fact teenagers in Indonesia more love foreign culture than the culture of Indonesia. Though not necessarily outside culture only bring positive things, surely there are positive and negative. Examples of the positive things that we are comforted by the foreign cultural bias. And the downside of a sense of patriotism gradually be eroded by the arrival of a foreign culture, the ethos of Indonesia could be changed because of it.

So, it would be nice if we still idolize Indonesian culture, which is the work of our own country. We also need to maintain the character of our nation, because if not us, who else is going to keep it?? We need to globalize the work of Indonesia.

The entry of Korean culture to Indonesia has a lot of influence in Indonesia. Examples like Korean songs a.k.a K-POP. Many young people who attend as many music genres Korean boyband and a girlband made similar such as Korean boyband and a girlband. Examples boyband and girlband in Indonesia are like smash, dragon boys, Hits, XO IX, cherrybell, 7 icons, etc.. boyband and girlband from Indonesia follow many boyband and girlband emulate Korean such as Super Junior, Beast, 2PM, MBLAQ, Girls Generations, etc.. In Indonesia many boyband and girlband auditions held aiming to find talent of the nation. Not only the teenagers who follow boyband and a girlband but children also, even old people were also followed.

Firstly, the inclusion of K-POP music change Malay music and dangdut in Indonesia. Malay and dangdut music has been less and less interested in the community and is rarely shown on television. Society is now more like the style of Korean boyband and girlband. The shift is making music and dangdut melayu began to decline dramatically.

Secondly, reducing a love of music such as Malay and Indonesian dangdut,  Indonesia original music over time will be lost. Even now, K-POP makes local cultural nearly scarcity.

It's concluded that we must keep our original culture, that's mean we may take in K-POP in Indonesia but we have more concerned to Indonesian's original culture.

Thesis : K-Pop is a modern colonialism style for theIndonesian young.

Nowadays, nearly all media whether written or electronic media reports about the existence of Korean music at this very moment become Indonesian music orientation. Korean pop or K-Pop, has hypnotized the Indonesian not only inmusic but also for all; fashion, behavior, and life of style comingled in their daily activities. As the Indonesian, of course; we must apprehend to such phenomenon that will be polished our noble culture as heritage of our ancestor.

So what must we do? Of course; we are able to have a high responsible for protecting our culture from Korean colonialism, especially in moral aspect. According to my opinion, K-pop is one of a new colonialism in moral, because it can be influence both attitude and behavior,in daily. For instance; in fashion and life of style, they have contaminated ofthe western artists. The immoral fashion, on the way, in the mall etc., it seems has usual case in our life, not only for the young but also to adult even though, the children have accustomed.

To avoid trap of the colonialism moral further it seems we must confine or bounded in other word;we must be selectively choose everything comes from abroad; not only Korean but also others countries that provide bad impact for us. We always be wary for everything to unknown completely for the truth, take care when we were mingle with a strange people (in this case: the foreign artists) and choose selectively the things that can break our identity as a moral nation.

Back to my thesis, that K-Pop is a modern colonialism style for the Indonesian young people, then it raised one question, why does the K-pop become a modern colonialism for us? I try to provide some appropriate arguments to prove what the K-Pop become a real moral colonialism for the young, especially for the Indonesian young which become Korean fanaticartists.

Arguments:

1.      Nowadays K-Pop becomes the young direction whether in fashions, attitudes, behavior, and their life style   without care of polite and good manners.

2.      The existence of K-pop in Indonesian make us apprehensive of the future of the young, because they have neglected of a noble heritage of our ancestor as; great culture that supported a high value of eastern customs,

3.      The fever K-pop could bring us to a bad custom and make the young more keen to foreign culture than their self; Indonesia.

From the statements above I conclude that K-Pop fever is a real threat for us, because sooner or faster it would be dominated our life, our style and our daily activities.

K-pop is derived from the K is meant KOREA, POP is meantgender of music, so the K-pop is a genre of dance music korean pop. which iscurrently being afflicting the world, as we know k-pop identical with dance, the western pop music combined with the ability to dance and charming faces bethe main attraction hearts.

Indonesian stage musical is now in domination by the adventof boyband and girlband imitate k-pop, like SMASH, 7 icons, Cherybelle, etc.

Actually, this is just a momentary phenomenon. Onlyimpingement desire and show two-way globalization. According to sociologistculture UGM Oki Raharjo, their culture can be big thanks to the influence ofthe media, nor in Indonesia. Unfortunately, Indonesia is only positioned as aconsumer.

As time goes, the Korean culture is not only alive consumedin Southeast Asia, but also moved to the United States, the Middle East, andLatin America, which is evidenced by the fan club there. In the last 10-15years, the Korean culture to evolve so rapidly and received expanding publicworld, to produce a fever phenomenon in Korean culture

global level, termed the 'Hallyu' or 'korean wave'.

Severity Indonesia include "eating" everything, from both East and West. Indonesia can not bring a strong culture that can beconsumed by people. Indications Indonesia just a consumer society seen fromtime to time. They easily get items or products offered by the media.

The teenagers generally like k-pop style of clothing, hairstyles, koreogravi dance, etc.. K-pop fever which struck Indonesia is notreally bad, because with the k-pop culture yng into Indonesia will add color toIndonesian music.

they liked K-Pop because look at aesthetics, not for mereconsumption. While the creators of the critical need to make works by combininghis experience. Oki also assume the K-Pop fever in Indonesia justentertainment.

Korean music group preferred young Indonesia include SuperJunior, SNSD, and Shinee. Associated with Shinee, in early October, when heldIndonesia-Korea Culture Week, the group invited Shinee concert in Jakarta. Anumber of 2500 tickets available sold out, while there were 15,000 ticketrequests (Reuters, October 12, 2010). Halini shows how Korean culture was soentrenched in the hearts of fans overseas

K-Pop phenomenon is not new. Previously also had no feverMeteror Garden and Malay music. Today, enthusiasts are both gone downhill.

Well, one time K-Pop would be like that. Therefore, K-Pophas reached the maximum phase and the consumer has a saturation point.

k-pop music scene not only colonize Indonesia but also inthe rest of the world admires their k-pop enthusiasm of youth as Indonesia,k-pop fever is sweeping all ages ranging from children, adolescents, andadults-were like k-this pop.

Althought the K-pop fever should be taken wisely, for thosewho love Korean culture should still have a sense of belonging to preservelocal culture.

Thesis:

K-pop stands for Korean Pop, is a type of popular music which originated from South Korea. The popularity of South Korean culture right now was named Korean Fever or Korean Wave. Actually, Korean Wave that firstly boomed was from the films or called as K-Drama. Started from the films, people began to like the music, fashion, attitude, food, etc.

People in Indonesia began to notice the Korean Wave about 3 years ago. But not only in Indonesia, people around the world also addicted to Korean Wave. Even years before the Korean Wave first came to Indonesia.

Before the K-Drama first appeared in the country, South Korea is not at all popular in Indonesia or even in the world. Especially since its neighbor, North Korea, have bad reputation related to military activities and their communism.

But, after the appearance of Endless Love and Full House, accompanied by the emergence of Rain (Bi) which was known as the first Korean singer who brought the Hallyu Wave (K-Pop) to foreign countries, with holding a concert and became as a movie player in Hollywood. Indeed, before Rain existing there were other singers like BoA and Kangta who advanced international. But, Rain had bigger influence in raising up South Korean culture in the world.

After those times, the popularity of South Korea began to rise. There emerged K-Pop that helped to raise the name of South Korea. K-pop came out in the form of (mostly) a group of musicians which called boyband and girlband. Boyband for a group of men musician, and girlband is a group of women musician. The boybands and girlbands in Korea didn’t only show their great vocals out, but also their dances that followed the rhythm of the song which they sang. That made the K-Pop unique. Almost all songs from the boybands and girlbands was energic. So it made the listeners excited. Besides, their faces were almost perfect. I mean, their faces were so handsome and beautiful.

The most influential bands in the South Korea were Super Junior and Girls Generation, those were a boyband and girlband formed by SM Entertainment. In addition to SM Entertainment, there are many other companies that produce singers, girlband and boyband other in South Korea as YG Entertainment (Big Bang, 2NE1), JYP (2PM, 2AM, Miss A), Cube (4Minute, B2ST), and many more.

Arguments:

Now, you could see almost all people around the world love and get crazy about K-Pop. People like to download video clips, listening and singing K-Pop, and even they want to learn the Korean language. Not only that, they are even willing to spend their money to buy the album, photo book, goodies, and concert tickets to watch their idol. And Indonesia is one of the countries that affected by the K-Pop fever large enough. The number of enthusiasts for the concert of boybands and girlbands in Indonesia is quite a lot. Started from teenagers to adults, even children, they like K-Pop very much.

From the K-Drama, people loved Korean Drama because the plot was unpredictable. So it made the viewers curious and began to guess “what is the rest of the story?”, it made the viewers didn’t want to skip any episodes. Besides, the episodes in the K-Drama were few enough. So we weren’t bored in watching it and made the rating kept rising.

For Indonesia, we can adopt the concept of Korean Drama in our dramas. Usually, we made a drama in long episodes (even until season 7 and 1.002 episodes in Cinta Fitri) so it made the viewers bored. Korea never did that, the longest episode of their drama was just about 20-30 episodes. Plus, when we made a drama, the plot was so plain. Even the plot between one drama to another drama were almost similar. Indeed, Indonesia now made such a “Korean-ish” drama like Cinta Cenat Cenut which has about 16 episodes. But it continued until finally came to Cinta Cenat Cenut 3.

From K-Pop, started from the conversation in social media and online forum until tv channel, they always discussed about K-Pop. Not only that, many stores competed to sell knick knacks which were worn by the K-Pop artists. The K-Poppers (call for the people who like K-Pop) in Indonesia are girls in the average. They always bragged about K-Pop, they talked about K-Pop wherever they are. They think that Korea is the most “WOW!” even going to South Korea became their first ambition.

Korean music has two main elements, those are fashion and music itself. Korean music usually brings dance genre, hip-hop, and other elements of choreography and interesting costumes. Here, the excellence in "handsomeness and beauty" is also highlighted, besides the quality of the music. And this was what Indonesia copied from Korean music.

There are many boybands and girlbands in Indonesia right now since 2 years ago. The booming of boybands and girlbands phenomenon in Indonesia displaced the top bands and singers which on the rise, such as Ungu, D’Masiv, Afgan, Vidi Aldiano, etc. The boybands and girlbands from Indonesia oriented from K-Pop. From the fashion, the dance, the song genre, etc. Smash touted as a pioneer of the emergence of boybands and girlbands generations in Indonesia. The others are Fame, XO-IX, Super Girlies, Cherrybelle and Coboy Jr. Those are we call I-Pop. Although some of them refused to say that they followed the K-Pop style, but that’s the truth. So I guess it’s good for the development of music industry in Indonesia as long as they don’t eradicate their real culture.

I’m not a K-Popper, but I don’t deny that the K-Pop artists are so handsome and beautiful. They are so good looking. But behind it all, I heard that it was because of plastic surgery. Almost all of artists in Korea did plastic surgery and it contradicted to our culture. I guess this one is a thing that we don’t have to follow from Korea. We can idolize someone, but if he/she are opposed to the beliefs that we hold, we'd better stay away from what she/he took.

Recommendation:

For Indonesia, I personally think that the presence of K-Pop may be a reflection on the music industry in Indonesia. They offer quality artists with awesome voice quality and it can trigger the spirit of our generations to do more than Korea do. And we must be proud because one of the artist and performer from Indonesia, Agnes Monica, successfully brought herself and her goal to the United States. I expect more artists and other singers are also able to carry the name of Indonesia to the international world with amazing achievement or even ultimately could lead to influence I-Pop in the world.

For the fans, I guess it’s good for them to idolize K-Pop, as long as they don’t bury their real culture. Don’t be too over or in Indonesia “lebay” in idolizing K-Pop because it’s not good for us. Take what we have to learn and throw what’s not good for us. Be selective in idolizing it. Not all of your idols do is right.

Thesis

K-pop or Korean Pop is a kind of popular music that comes from South Korean. But now, K-Pop isn’t only used for music. It is also used to call everything that is connected to South Korean modern culture, like film, drama, boyband, girlband and many other similiar things.

Recently, K-pop fever or usually called as Korean Wave has been a phenomenon in many Asian Countries, including in Indonesia. Actually, it’s not a bad thing. We can learn many things from them. But the bad effects come when our own Indonesia teenagers love K-pop too much, and even more than those teenagers’ love to our Indonesian culture.

Arguments

There are some bad effects that is caused by this Korean Wave. The first is, many Indonesia teenagers who start to think that another nation’s culture is more interesting and more important than our own culture. It’s so ironic to imagine how they know everything about another nation, but they don’t even know anything about their own nation. It’s the reality. They sing Korean songs everytime, even though as I know most of them didn’t know what is the meaning of that song, instead of singing our own traditional song.

Furthermore, not all of their culture are good for the teenager. We know that Indonesia and Korea are East nation. Nevertheless, as the time goes by, it seems like Korea itself has been influenced by West nation, especially in fashion and lifestyle. While we know that west countries’ fashion and lifestyle is not suitable with our east culture. But this is the reality. Many teenagers think that Koreans’ school uniform that they watch in the dramas seems more interesting than our uniform here. We can see how the dramas influence them a lot. And of course it’s not a good thing for our nation if our own young generation prefer wear Koreans’ school uniform to wearing Indonesia traditional clothes.

Not only about clothes, but the story of the drama also have influenced many Indonesia teenagers, especially teen girls. They can spend hours just to watch the dramas, because they are so curious about the story. Of course it’s not good for their school. Even in many cases, the story of those dramas influence the real life of the teen girls. They can spend hours in their own mind by imagining that they are the girls in the dramas they just watched. It’s hard to believe. But this is real. As the result, they just live in their own imagination. It will influence their school, because it will make them lack of concentration when they are studying. Actually it’s not dangerous. But they must realize that dramas are just dramas. They have to live in the real live. If they want to live in a beautiful life. The only thing they can do is studying hard and praying. Not by daydreaming.

Recommendation

Actually K-pop is not a bad thing. But we just have to know that we are as the teenagers, as the young generation of our own country, we have to be able to choose the best thing for us. It’s not bad to love certain thing, no matter it’s from west or east countries. But the important one is, we must be able to select the one that is suitable with our own identity. We must love our country first, we must know our country first, and we must build our country first. We can imagine what will happen with our Indonesia culture if we, as the young generation, prefer love another nations’ culture to loving our own culture. If it really happens, then who will love our own culture? Don’t forget that it’s our responsibility to love, to keep and to preserve our own Indonesia culture. Let’s be good young generation!

K-pop or korean pop is a type of music that was trendy in Indonesia, usually k-pop is a type of popular boy band or girl band. many young people are really like this song, especially young women, not just the song that is the reason K-pop has become popular, it is also very interesting dance moves and the members are handsome or beautiful makes special attraction for k-pop. because young people prefer k-pop songs than a song from Indonesia causing a negative impact for songs and culture of Indonesia.

firstly, with more people like k-pop songs than the songs from Indonesia itself, causing songs and culture from Indonesia began to disappear.

secondly, with the k-pop is causing Korean culture more popular than culture from Indonesia itself, it caused people from Indonesia began not in love with the culture of his own country, and this led to the identity from country itself began to disappear

with all the negative impacts, we must keep our own culture. we should prefer and like to wear, listen to, use domestic products, and most importantly, we have to protect our own country's culture.
